First Day Back to SchoolCongratulations parents! You did it! You got your kiddos up, fed and off to school on their first day back! Quite an accomplishment in and of itself and that doesn’t include all the behind the scenes work and weeks of prep it took to get it done! Cleaning out closets to pass along what doesn’t fit, doing the back to school shopping to find the newest thing that they can’t possibly live without, or the “coolest” sneakers that make you run faster and jump higher! Getting hair cuts, picking out backpacks, setting earlier bed times, meeting the teachers, packing lunches, signing papers.

WOW! I bet you probably didn’t think about everything you do to prep your young scholars for their first day. A pat on the back is in order. And while you are relishing in your accomplishment, why not take the time to do the same for your office? Take an inventory; what’s on your desk and what have you been putting off all summer to clean up? How can you be better organized? What about that office chair that has seen better days of keeping your posture perfect as well as keeping the squeaks away while you are on the phone? The inch of dust lurking behind your monitor or the stock pile of outdated [insert your “no longer use it, but should hang on to it just because” item here] that has been taking residence in your drawers? Take a few minutes right now to make a list of what you can do to prepare you for your “First Day Back” to work. Then give yourself another well deserved pat on the back.
