WPRP Walks ProMat 2015

WPRP was so excited to be walking the ProMat 2015 floor this past Monday and Tuesday. ProMat was alive with the energy of all the exhibitors and educational opportunities. All of this packed into a short time, with the addition of the inconveniences brought on by the weather could prove overwhelming, but the WPRP team did a great job of meeting with customers, networking, even carving out time to highlight both new and existing products via our video mini series “Would You Like Fries With That”.

To quote Linda Anlauf, “ProMat is networking at its best. It is the one place where you can meet customers, vendors and manufactures and getting to meet in person just deepens the relationships you have with them”. Josh Smith felt the same way, “Being able to shake someone’s hand and get to know them beyond pallet rack is invaluable”.

ProMat is such a fantastic platform for getting feedback from customers and manufacturers. Part of that feedback was about our social media presence and the benefit it has on our business relationships. Vendors we had never met recognized us from social media and were happy to meet the faces behind the posts. There were also positive comments about how other companies have benefitted from our educational videos.

WPRP Mheda-NetThe highlight of ProMat was being a part of the MHEDA Connections Conference. The “Pacesetters”, Linda and Josh and Brian Neuwirth of Unex , Eddie Murphy of SpaceGuard and Adam Wray of Nashville Wire Products, presented “Bridging the Generation Gap to Improve Culture”. The round table discussion was an open conversation about understanding the differences between generations and how to work together in a positive way. There was lots of great feedback from other companies about how they support and encourage generational team building through fitness such as using the Fit Bit, and having company wide Biggest Loser competitions. Charity events and fund raising is also a poplar way to come together. Another great topic was the use of mentoring programs that pair the younger and older generations together to benefit from their unique knowledge and expertise. The big takeaway was that there has to be a balance in the work environment. You need a solid work ethic as well as a fun and creative atmosphere to work and thrive. The companies that took part in the panel discussion are all making strides in doing just that for their employees!

At WPRP, Our Goal is to Help you and we look forward to sharing our experience at ProMat through our video mini series, “Would You Like Fries With That”. Stay tuned for great educational information to come!
