When used with roll-formed slotted pallet rack, the Ridg-U-Rak CL clip can be used as a redundant lock or an easy field installed solution in the event the spring clip gets damaged. On structural slotted pallet rack, it's also required when using a structural slotted row spacer. -
Additional Safety and Spec (ANSI/RMI) Information Pallet rack beams require a locking device that keeps them locked into frame columns while in use. Without a locking device, beams can be accidentally dislodged from frames, creating a potentially dangerous situation. While most beams are now manufactured with built-in locking devices, these are easily broken or sheared off. In this case, we recommend installing replacement safety clips, the most popular of which is the Universal Drop Pin. The Universal Drop Pin fits any pallet rack with 3/8" aligning holes in the frame-to-beam connection and is easy to install. The Ridg-U-Rak Spring Clip is also commonly known as the "pinch pin," and can be used with slotted and teardrop pallet racking. The Spring Clip's unique design makes it easy to secure two different beams at the same time.
Once the Spring Clip is installed, the end of the beam in which it's installed is locked into place in the frame. For safety purposes, we recommend installing clips on any beams that don't already have them. -
