iPads are taking over the world! Well, maybe not taking over the material-handling-ipadworld, but they are making their mark. iPads are definitely the cool kids of the tablet world and they aren’t just for Clashing Clans or Crushing Candy, they are revolutionizing customer service. You can find them in schools, hospitals, airlines, retail stores – just about anywhere you look – and WPRP is no different. You will find iPads at work in our warehouses and they are very helpful to our dealers as well.

The process begins when the orders are put into our system for fulfillment. When an order is entered into our database software, our warehouse team is notified, as the order is added to a list of scheduled orders within the system. The shipping specialists then proceed to ensure the pallet rack order is fulfilled correctly by using a pulled-and-confirmed order verification system. This step is helpful to the dealer because it gives them the confidence that the customer will be receiving the correct products.

When an order is ready, the iPad automatically sends an email including a bill of lading to the dealer.  This bill of lading includes the dimensions of the packaging so that the dealer will have enough information to schedule shipping if necessary.  If WPRP is shipping the product, this bill of lading will also confirm that the material handling ipadorder has been pulled and scheduled for pickup. These same email notifications also include any special notes for the carrier, i.e. prepaid third party billing information. This is yet another confidence builder for the dealer.

Once the order has either been shipped or picked up, the dealer will receive a final email with tracking information and a photograph of the product as it left our warehouse.  This helps identify any damage that was done while in transit.
