Shipping Update: Pallet Rack LTL Freight Classes

Freight Changes with Pallet RackIn an effort to keep WPRP’s distributors up to date on industry changes, we want to notify you of significant changes occurring in LTL Freight Classes for all Pallet Rack shipments regardless of the supplier effective 11/29/14.  Freight classes for shipments 96” or higher will be changing from a class 65 to a class 125, 200 or 300 depending on the size of the shipment.  This can cause increases from approximately 20% to 3X the original freight cost.  Since truckload rates are not affected, it may be less expensive to ship via full or partial truckload vs LTL in some cases.  Please note, partial truckload shipments require flexibility in pick up and drop off times.  Shipments less than 96” will need to be reviewed to determine the density of the shipment.  If the density is less than 12 lbs per cubic foot, a class 125 will apply.  If the density is 12 lbs or more per cubic foot, a class 65 will apply.Pallet Rack LTL Freight Classes It will be critical to advise your customers of these changes.  Quick Ship orders shipping prior to 11/29 will not be affected, but custom orders with production lead times will be affected.  If you have custom orders pending, freight will need to be reviewed prior to shipment and adjusted accordingly.

We will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding these changes.  Feel free to call us at 888-578-1579 or e-mail [email protected].
