Wholesale Pallet Rack Products received an inquiry from a customer asking if United Steel Products / Excel Storage Products lock in (or tabbed) safety bars fit in Ridg-U-Rak’s slotted teardrop beams. Since USP / ESP went out of business in 2010, it was a valid question. Ridg-U-Rak beams have been used in many cases to replace or add onto USP / ESP pallet rack bays because the material is the closest match. In addition, lock in safety bars can be less expensive when ordered in large quantities and also restrict the movement of the safety bar (also known as a pallet support or cross bar). The customer had left over safety bars and no beams.WPRP decided to set up a test bay to determine if the two were compatible. Check out the photos below.
The USP / ESP lock in safety bar fits in the Ridg-U-Rak slotted teardrop beam. This proved to be a win-win for our customer. They could use the safety bars in stock and only need to order new beams.
