2) The freight forwarder will give all the information to a customs broker who will prepare a quote that includes duties, customs user fees, transportation charges if applicable and their fees. These fees must be paid prior to the shipment entering Mexico.
3) Cargo insurance for loss or damage will need to be considered for the shipment once it moves into Mexico. The Mexican Government does not require freight carriers to have cargo insurance; therefore, you may want to work with an insurance company who can provide this coverage.

Although it is possible to do the above on your own, it can be cumbersome and time intensive. Another option is to hire a logistics company who can provide freight forwarder, custom broker and cargo insurance services. They would need the following information to get started with a quote for their services:

3) Load description
4) Type of equipment needed: Flatbed, Van, etc.
