Pallet Rack Lingo

This week’s #RackArt image is a cool perspective of Ridg-U-Rak Beam Connectors, also known as ears. Yes, ears. Pallet Rack and all its various parts, profiles and accessories, can be a bit confusing to navigate. Even more so when many of the parts go by more than one name.

Pallet Rack Beam Connectors

It happens everywhere you go. There can be several common terms for every day items, but that doesn’t mean everyone is on board with the lingo. Soda or pop? Hoagie, sub or hero? Is it sauce or gravy? Well, that is a debate that could go on for days. If you are in the south and ask for pasta with gravy, they may look at you and say, “Oh Bless Your Heart”. It sounds sweet, but really it’s southern slang for saying you have lost your mind. However, in many authentic Italian kitchens gravy is the red stuff on top of spaghetti. Likewise, when I go to a potluck dinner I will gladly make a casserole, but if you ask me to bring hot dish, all you’ll get is a warmed plate.
