Different types of storage units are available depending upon your storage requirements.  Matching the appropriate storage unit to your needs will ensure an efficient operation that can grow with your future needs and provide you with a positive return on your investment.  Below are three different types of storage units for you to consider on your next application.

Rivet Shelving

Rivet Shelving can provide storage solutions for basic back-room storage to totally integrated warehouse applications.  Posts and shelves come in a variety of sizes to provide versatility, and this shelving provides easy boltless assembly.  An example of the capacity is Tennsco’s shelves which carry  500 – 800 lbs per each, and their heavy duty shelves which carry a capacity from 1250 – 2250 lbs per shelf.

What is the difference between Rivet Shelving, Bulk Rack and Industrial Pallet Rack?

Bulk Rack

Bulk Rack can provide storage solutions for oversized or heavy products.  Components consist of welded frames, beams and deck supports.  Assembly is quick and easy with beams securely dropping into upright holes and deck supports dropping into beam slots to create a rigid framework.  An example of the capacity is Tennsco’s bulk rack that has a unit capacity of 17,000# based on 24″ vertical beam spacing and is available up to 16 feet in height.

Industrial Pallet Rack

Industrial Pallet Rack is designed to support high stacking of single items or palletized loads.  This system allows palletized loads to be stored in horizontal rows with multiple levels.  Forklift trucks are typically used in this system to load and unload the pallets in the storage racks.  Frames are usually available in heights up to 40 feet, and beams are usually available in lengths up to 15 feet.  Pallet rack bay capacities can range from approximately 15,000# to 40,000# at 48″ vertical beam spacing depending on the manufacturer.  Installation will require the rack to be plumb, and the footplates to be anchored to the ground.
