Cross Bars for Pallet Rack

This installment of #RackArt gives us a look into the profile of a Ridg-U-Rak Top Hat Cross Bar. Cross bars are also known as safety bars, skid supports and pallet supports. They come in a variety of styles, to fit your customer’s existing beam profiles. They can be flanged, to have the top surface flush with the beams or recessed into the beam to support a plywood or solid steel deck.

They may look different, and each style has its own attributes, but cross bars all serve the same purpose: to act as a secondary support for pallets. Cross bars are placed front to back between the load beams to provide even support and have a standard load bearing capacity of 2,500 lbs. Ridg-U-Rak’s cross bars prevent pallets from falling through the pallet rack if the pallet is not properly loaded on both the front and rear beams, or if the pallet is broken.

The cross bars in this #RackArt image have a galvanized finish and are installed with tek screws to the beam. These cross bars are recessed and can allow for a solid surface or wire decking to be placed on top, or several cross bars can be placed side by side to create a solid surface out of the cross bars themselves.
