Linda Anlauf and Josh Smith attended a lunch meeting of The Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs on August 20th. The Club meets on a weekly basis for lunch meetings that take place at The Sycamore Grill located in Delaware Water Gap, PA. The Rotary Club is a service organization, established by Paul P. Harris in 1905, as a way for business professionals with diverse backgrounds to come together to share ideas and promote meaningful friendships. It has since grown to be an international organization that supports human rights causes, water and sanitation issues, education and disease prevention.

The Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs supports the mission of the international organization by contributing to the Polio Plus polio eradication fund and they participated in the funding of the construction of a school in Haiti. Locally, The Club hosts an annual spaghetti dinner that raises funds for the community. They award $6,000.00 in scholarships to local high school and college students and financially support more that 15 non profit agencies that do good work in the community. The Club’s premier project is the ongoing support of the American Cancer Society through the purchase of the Daffodil Express Vans. To date, eight vans have been provided to the Monroe County Chapter of the American Cancer Society to be used solely for the transportation of cancer patients to and from their treatments.
