How to Install Interlake Mecalux Pallet Rack Row Spacers

Row Spacers are a pallet rack accessory and a valuable addition to your customer’s system. Row spacers are used to secure the back-to-back rows of pallet rack, to keep them standing straight and secure, and to keep the rows uniform in spacing. They also create flue spaces, which offers a clear line of sight from floor to ceiling and allows heat to properly rise in case of fire, enabling the sprinkler system to function more efficiently. Row spacers also offset any depth to height ratio issues with a pallet rack system that is taller than it is deep. For all of these reasons, row spacers are an important accessory to the pallet rack system, but how are they installed? Here are a few guidelines to make ordering and installation convenient for you and your customer:

Pallet Rack Row Spacer Distribution

The height of the system determines how many row spacers will be used.

Interlake Mecalux recommends that the bottom row spacer should be installed 50” from the floor.
• The Top Row Spacer should be installed next to the highest horizontal strut.
• Intermediate Row Spacers should be located close to strut connections and maintain equal distances between spacers, and not exceed 144” between them.
• When planning row spacers for a pallet rack system, be sure to avoid interference with beams, struts or any other installation components.
